Ohio Workshop - October 26, 2024
9 E Columbus St., Lithopolis, Ohio
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Entry fee is $50 per contestant (1 parent permitted with children under 18). This includes the modeling session, the wardrobe selection session, and your choice of either introduction or interview prep. Up to two add-on sessions can be added for $20 each.
Fees are non-refundable / non-transferable as this is a fundraiser for our non-profit Crown to Serve. Workshop sessions are available exclusively for registered participants and one accompanying parent. However, our boutique and consignment shop are open to the public throughout the event.
Workshop Sessions
Modeling
Included in workshop registration fee
You'll gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in every aspect of modeling. Here’s what you can expect during the modeling segment:

Wardrobe Selection
Included in workshop registration fee
During the wardrobe selection segment of our workshop, we'll help you refine your outfit choices to ensure you stand out in every competition. Here's what you can expect:

Review your existing wardrobe choices with personalized feedback to ensure your outfits align perfectly with the requirements of each pageant event or optional competition.

Learn how to choose colors that flatter your skin tone, fits that complement your body type, and accessories that enhance your overall look without overpowering it.

Discuss tips on selecting the right shoes, the ideal lengths and styles for formal gowns, and choosing the best hairstyles.

Understand the dos and don’ts of interview attire to make the best impression.

Receive guidance on selecting garments with functional elements and accessories that add drama and pizzazz for modeling events like fun fashion.

Interview
Your choice of either interview or introduction is included in your workshop registration fee. Add on up to two additional sessions for $20 each.
In our interview session, we'll equip you with everything you need to excel in both panel-style and one-on-one round robin interviews. Here's what you can expect:

Learn strategies to ensure the judges get to know the real you and what matters most to you, all within a limited interview time.

Discuss how to prepare your responses without sounding too rehearsed, maintain good posture, and present yourself with calm confidence.

Understand how to effectively discuss your personal platform and community service, anticipate the types of questions judges might ask, and avoid filler words that can detract from your message.

Get guidance on how to clearly convey why you are the best fit for the role of queen for that specific system, ensuring the judges understand your commitment and vision.

Learn how to stay composed under pressure, make a strong first impression, and close the interview with impact.
Our goal is to equip you with the tools to communicate your values, personality, and goals with clarity and authenticity, leaving a memorable and positive impression on the judges.


Introduction

In our introduction session, we'll meet you where you are—whether you already have an introduction written and need help polishing it, or you’re starting from scratch and need guidance on getting it just right. Here's what you'll gain:

In our optionals competition prep session, we'll guide you through selecting and getting ready for your optionals, preparing you to excel in every category you choose to compete in.

We'll review your plans for any optional competitions you're considering, such as modeling, photo, essay, talent, speeches, and more, to help you decide which ones align best with your strengths and goals.

Receive personalized advice on selecting the perfect wardrobe and ensuring your presentation is polished and impactful, helping you stand out in every optional competition.

We'll help you fine-tune your approach, whether it's refining your talent performance, selecting the best photos, or crafting a compelling essay, so you're confident and prepared.

How to Be a Successful Titleholder &
Social Media / Online Safety
This is an add-on session. Add on up to two additional sessions for $20 each.
You've won the title! Now what? In this session, you'll gain essential skills to navigate your title with confidence while staying safe online. Here's what you'll gain:

Susan West
Interview Session
Susan is the founder of StarJewel Publishing LLC, and is the Owner and Executive Director for American Royal Beauties and StarJewel Showcase, a talent and modeling based competition and pageant. She has an extensive background in business, accounting, and writing; and has operated and owned several successful ventures over the past 25 years.
Susan has an extensive background in writing and public speaking. If you have ever had the pleasure to speaking to Susan either in person or online, you know she has an extensive vocabulary and is very gifted in public speaking skills.

Evyn Mills
Modeling Session
Evyn is a senior at the Ohio State University, former ARB National Excellence titleholder and an accomplished model and dancer. Even is a seasoned pageant competitor, coach, and judge and has competed in national and international pageants in Las Vegas, Dallas, Orlando and Boca Raton. Some of the titles she has held are the following: Miss Elk World, past USA National Miss Ohio Pre-Teen and Ohio Teen, Miss Shawnee Outstanding Teen, USA National Miss past titles of National Talent and National Supermodel.
Evyn has been graced with numerous dance awards and collected numerous championships as a competitive dancer. Evyn is classically trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Musical Theater, and Lyrical. In addition to her dance and pageant pursuits, Evyn has had the exciting opportunity to grace many designer runways at New York and Columbus Fashion Weeks for several years so stage presence is her specialty. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and plans to continue her pageant journey after college.

Austin Tootle
Optionals Session
Austin Tootle is the creative force behind Tutel, a fashion brand where fantasy meets reality. His journey into fashion began with modeling and acting, where he discovered the transformative power of clothing and storytelling through style. These experiences ignited his passion for fashion and set him on a path of creative exploration.
Austin's passion for design led him to the Columbus College of Art and Design, where he honed his skills and gained a solid foundation in design principles and techniques. His journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of growth and learning, a trait that keeps his work fresh and innovative.
After graduating from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2022, Austin presented an extension of his senior collection at Columbus Fashion Week, captivating audiences with his innovative designs. This led to an opportunity to showcase at New York Fashion Week in 2023, where Tutel's collection received rave reviews from industry insiders and fashion enthusiasts alike.
Austin showcased again at Columbus Fashion Week in 2023, solidifying his status as a prominent local and national designer. He then collaborated with U.S. Figure Skater Isabeau Levito, designing a custom outfit for her 2024 national championships performance, further elevating Tutel's profile in both the sports and fashion communities.
Austin has an extensive background in modeling, acting, and print modeling, which makes him an incredible resource for contestants participating in Optional competitions!

Amy Hannah
Wardrobe Consultation
As a pageant advisor for more than 20 years, Amy has been actively involved in assisting delegates to make the proper wardrobe choices. She believes strongly in dressing to fit your body type and personality so that you look and feel your best. Her boutique, Trendy Couture, has led her to NJ/NY for fashion markets where she and her business partner have been able to keep up on the latest in fashion trends. She is currently working to host her boutique’s own Christmas Fashion show.

Kaylin Melnick
Modeling Session
Kaylin Melnick is the reigning ARB North American National Young Miss. She has been in pageantry since she was 9 years old competing at the local, state, national, and international levels. In her 5 years with American Royal Beauties and Star Jewel, Kaylin has won 2 National titles, 3 National Optional titles, and an Ultimate Grand Supreme title. Kaylin lives in Pennsylvania, is a competitive dancer, a varsity cheerleader, and a straight-A student. Kaylin will be walking in New York Fashion Week this February and aspires to continue to grow her modeling resume.

Dusty Justice
Introduction Session
Meet Dusty Smith, our American Royal Beauties National Ms. 2024, hailing from Wild and Wonderful West Virginia! With a remarkable 20+ years of public speaking experience, Dusty is not only a dedicated teacher but also a passionate advocate for her community. When she's not in the classroom, she tirelessly empowers families and teens, leaving a profound impact wherever she goes.
Despite being new to the world of pageantry, Dusty exemplifies the power of hard work and heart, achieving an almost perfect score in Induction at Nationals. Her journey is a testament to the incredible heights one can reach with determination and purpose. In just two months of holding her National Title, Dusty has already collaborated with nine inspiring ARB State Queens, showcasing her commitment to fostering a strong sisterhood within American Royal Beauties.
Her passion for community enrichment and dedication to helping women find their voices resonates deeply, making her a true role model. Dusty is creating positive change—one voice at a time!
